Kathmandu. Nepal Telecommunication Company Limited (NTC) has decided to provide free telephone, SMS and internet services to the people affected by floods in Rasuwagadhi.
Minister for Information and Communications, Dr. Bikram Timilsina directed the government to immediately provide free telephone and internet facilities to the flood-affected people.
According to Nepal Telecom’s spokesperson, Kamal Lamichhane, the company will provide two days of free voice service, 2 GB data per day and 50 SMS.
Nepal Telecom has been continuously informing the service recipients in and around the flood-affected areas through SMS today itself, urging them to take precautions.
According to the preliminary report of Nepal Telecom, seven towers including two in Rasuwa and five in Nuwakot have been damaged by the floods. Nepal Telecom teams have been mobilized in the affected areas for repairing towers and service infrastructure.
