Kathmandu. It is estimated that more than three hundred containers of goods imported from China via Rasuwa border point have been swept away by the flood in the Bhotekoshi River.

Rajendra Dhungana, chief officer of the Rasuwa Customs Office, said that the flood swept away the goods imported from China kept at the customs yard. He said that the goods in the customs yard have been badly damaged due to the floods.

Readymade clothes, shoes, bags and other goods imported from China targeting major festivals like Teej, Dashain and Tihar were kept at the customs yard. Preliminary estimates suggest that more than three hundred of these containers were swept away by the floods.

According to businessmen, more than 50 percent of the goods imported for the festival had reached the customs area. Due to the heavy damage caused to these goods due to the floods, the traders are also facing a huge financial loss.

The flood in the Bhotekoshi River has caused extensive damage in the Timure area of Rasuwa. The flood has affected dozens of settlements and structures around Rasuwa, including the Rasuwa Customs Office. The details of the damage are being collected.
