Kathmandu. As many as 60 employees including engineers working at the under-construction 20 MW Langtang Khola Hydropower Project at Syafrubesi in Rasuwa district have gone missing.
Employees of the Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project have gone out of contact due to the flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.
Bijay Mohan Bhattarai, managing director of the Langtang Hydropower Project and secretary of the Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal, said that 60 employees including engineers working at the project are out of contact and demanded the government to search for them.
“The concrete slope work of the tunnel of the project was going on. More than 60 employees are out of contact in this work. Therefore, I request the government to search for me,” he said, adding that the flood has caused serious damage to the structure of the hydropower project. He said that the tunnel located 10 meters above the river level has also been affected.
