Kathmandu. The Federation of Export Entrepreneurs Nepal has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property in the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers in Rasuwa and urged the government to expedite rescue, relief and rehabilitation works.

The Federation has said that its serious attention has been drawn towards the loss of lives, property and public infrastructure, saying the risk of erosion and inundation has increased in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan among other districts due to floods.

The floods have also damaged shops, warehouses, industries, offices, business structures and stores, affecting business activities.

The FNJ paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the disaster and extended condolences to the bereaved families. Likewise, the government wished speedy recovery to the injured and affected people and expressed sympathy and solidarity to the industrialists, entrepreneurs and establishments affected by floods and landslides.

It has urged the federal government, state governments, local levels and security agencies to immediately intensify rescue and relief efforts in the risky areas surrounding the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, relocate the people at risk to safer places and make arrangements for food, medicine, drinking water and temporary shelter.

The FNCCI has also appealed to the civil society, industrialists, entrepreneurs and its member organisations to actively engage in rescue, relief and rehabilitation as per their capacity at this difficult time of disaster.

The federation has said that it is committed to providing necessary humanitarian assistance by standing with the citizens, businesses and communities affected by the disaster.
