Kathmandu. Over a thousand vehicles have been damaged in the flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district.

According to the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs, over a thousand vehicles have been damaged in the floods. FNCCI general secretary Dekanath Gautam said around 600 cargo carriers, 300 passenger vehicles and 400 vehicles parked for customs clearance were damaged.

“More than 1,300 vehicles that had gone to the customs checkpoint and those carrying passengers to Rasuwa and Gosaikunda for customs clearance have suffered damages in the district.

The floods have damaged hundreds of trucks, containers, passenger buses, microbuses and new vehicles parked at Kerung transit point of China for customs clearance. General Secretary Gautam said that all the transport services in the affected areas have been suspended until further notice. He appealed to all sectors for immediate rescue and relief in the hour of disaster.

The Federation has demanded the government to immediately mobilize all agencies to search for the disappeared, provide treatment to the injured and provide appropriate compensation to the victims. The Federation has also drawn the attention of the government to create an environment conducive for the livelihood of flood-affected entrepreneurs and workers.
