Kathmandu. At present, there is the influence of monsoon winds across the country. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, the monsoon low pressure trough is currently around the average location.

At present, the weather is generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of the country. The weather is generally cloudy in the Terai region of Koshi and Sudurpaschim Province while partly cloudy in the rest of the Tarai region. Light to moderate rainfall is taking place at one or two places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. According to the weather bulletin issued by the Division, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon.

Moderate rain ÷snowfall with thunder and lightning is possible at some ÷places of the mountainous and hilly region of the country. Light rain ÷ moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible at some places of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few places of the Tarai region of Madhes and Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of the hilly and Tarai regions of Koshi, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few places of the hilly and Tarai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

According to the Meteorological Bulletin, there will be generally cloudy throughout the country tonight. Light rain ÷ moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the mountainous region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at ÷a few places of the mountainous region of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and at a few ÷places of the hilly region of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few ÷places of the Tarai region of Madhes Province, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province and at a few places of Tarai Province of Sudurpaschim Province. Heavy rainfall along with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places of the hilly region of Lumbini Province.

The Division has urged all concerned to adopt necessary precaution as there is a risk of disasters like mudslide, flood, landslide and soil erosion in the areas prone to heavy rainfall. The Division has urged all concerned to stay updated on the information as daily life as well as agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road and air transport could be affected due to the rain.
