Kathmandu. The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has urged the government to intensify search for journalists and their families who have gone missing due to flooding in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

Tek Raj Thami, a former central member of the FNJ and a journalist with Naya Patrika daily, who was on his way to Tibet via Rasuwagadhi border point, has been missing since Wednesday morning, according to the FNJ. Thami is the husband of RSS reporter Kalika Khadka.

Likewise, five members of journalist Nirajan Poudel from Bidur municipality-7 in Nuwakot have gone missing including his father, mother, uncles, aunts and sisters, FNJ general secretary Ram Prasad Dahal said in a press release today.

The FNJ has also urged the government to make necessary arrangement to regulate the communications services as the disruption of communication services in the flood-affected areas has affected due to disruption of power supply.
