Kathmandu. About 40 km of road in Rasuwa has been completely damaged due to the flooding in the Bhotekoshi River. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the road connecting Vetravati of Nuwakot to Syafrubesi-Rasuwagadhi via Mailung has been completely damaged. Similarly, about 10 km road from Galchi to Trishuli is also closed.

About 13 kilometers of road under the Prithvi Highway is filled with mud. According to the secretariat of the Infrastructure Development Minister, work is being done keeping the work of removing the mud and resuming the road on the first priority. 41 bridges have been completely damaged due to the floods.

After identifying the need and potential, the work of installing these bailey bridges has been started. Commitments have also been received from the governments of India and China to provide the necessary bailey bridges immediately.

The government has seven bailey bridges up to 50 meters in length. In the first phase, work has been started to bring the Prithvi Highway into operation and connect Rasuwa to the road network. For this, preparations are being made to install a bailey bridge at Vetrawati, according to the secretariat of the Minister of Infrastructure Development.

A total of 20 equipments, including 10 provided by the government and 10 provided by the private sector, have been mobilized to expedite the road reopening work. The work has been expedited by giving priority to the reconstruction of damaged roads and bridges and transportation operation.
