The carcasses and body parts of animals and cattle including humans have been found on the banks of Narayani and Trishuli rivers. It is said that it is difficult to manage such dead bodies in a proper place.
The body has been brought from the river bank by ambulance. The dead bodies brought to Bharatpur Hospital have to be kept under the tent. Dr. Bhojraj Adhikari, a physician and former chairman of the Bharatpur Hospital Development Committee, said that special care should be taken to prevent the body from rotting and stench. He said, “In such a situation, there is a risk of water-borne infection. ”
} At Bharatpur Hospital, the body is cleaned, taken pictures of the face, identified any marks on the body and numbered and kept in the temporary mortuary set up at the office of the Industrial Development Academy. It has become difficult to bring the body as soon as it is found in the river due to its complexity.
Dr. Bishwa Bandhu Baga, Chief Medical Superintendent of Bharatpur Hospital, said that there is a problem in managing the dead bodies. He said that the hospital has space to keep only 24 dead bodies and now 233 bodies have arrived. Four of them have been identified. The deceased have been identified as Madan Thapa Magar and Bhuwan Thapa Magar of Rasuwa, Kabir Lal Chaudhary of Banke and Ramkaji Poudel of Nuwakot.
