KATHMANDU: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has confirmed that 903 people have died in the Rasuwa floods so far.

According to the NRA, 267 people have been injured in the floods so far, and around 4,347 people are out of contact. Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Nawalparasi, East and West, Tanahun and Chitwan have been affected by the floods.

NRA Spokesperson Shanti Mahat said that 20,899 security personnel including Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force have been mobilized for search and rescue in the affected areas. According to him, 10,459 people trapped in floods and landslides have been rescued so far.

According to the authority, the Nepal Army has rescued 3,344 Nepali citizens and 252 foreign nationals by helicopter. For this, 411 flights have been conducted so far, according to the authority.

The government has provided Rs 1 crore in Rasuwa, Rs 1 crore in Nuwakot and Rs 50 lakh in Dhading. It has also provided Rs 6.75 crore to the affected 15 municipalities.

According to the NRA, foodstuffs, non-food items, medicines and health materials are also being supplied to the affected areas.
