Rasuwa. A generator has been brought to the district headquarters Dhunche for mobile phone charge. Due to the unimaginably devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River on August 25, the power supply has been completely disrupted in the district for the past five days.

The ‘Generator’ was brought here by the Nepal Red Cross Society with the help of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Due to the disruption of the power supply, the flood victims and pilgrims of Dhunche along with the locals had to be cut off from their relatives and the outside world. For this, the Nepal Red Cross Society, Rasuwa branch and Tilganga Eye Center took a joint initiative. With the arrival of a generator in the district headquarters, Dhunche, an arrangement has been made to charge mobile phones free of cost.

According to the Nepal Red Cross, more than 100 people are charging their mobile phones at the same time. This has made it easier to send a message to the relatives who are far away, ‘I am safe’. Locals and service recipients from far and wide have been relieved to be able to charge mobile phones through generators in the district headquarters. After getting the facility of charging, the residents of the district have been able to reconnect with their relatives. A flood affected person said, “The phone call has connected the broken hopes and comforted the worried hearts.” A technical team is working to restore the power service that was disrupted due to the floods and efforts are being made to restore the service soon.
