1114 killed, nearly 4,000 missing in Rasuwa floods

{{TAG_OPEN_div_16} Kathmandu. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has said that 1,114 people have lost their lives in the floods in Rasuwa so far.

According to the NRA, 3,916 people are still missing in the flood-affected areas. Spokesperson of the NRA, Shanti Mahat, said that 41 dead bodies have been recovered in Rasuwa, 155 in Nuwakot, 59 in Dhading, 66 in Gorkha, 35 in Tanahun, 177 in Nawalparasi East, 190 in Nawalparasi West and 348 in Chitwan.TAG_OPEN_div_14

According to the NRA, 21,314 security personnel including Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force have been deployed for search and rescue in the flood-affected areas. So far, 11,993 people have been rescued, according to the NRA.TAG_OPEN_div_12

Essential food items have been sent to the affected areas in 37 trucks and 37 small vehicles. Relief materials have also been sent to the affected families by helicopter.

TAG_OPEN_div_8 According to the NRA, the government has so far released a cash relief of Rs 67.5 million to the flood-affected 15 municipalities. Necessary arrangements are also being made for the resumption of fuel and communication services in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.
