Kathmandu. There is still a risk of flash floods in Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers.

Flood Forecasting Division under the Centre for Hydrology and Water Resources Research Division, Saraswati Bista said that rainfall is taking place in the upper bank of the Bhotekoshi River and there is possibility of more rain.

He said, “There is a high possibility of flash flood in these rivers, so the people living near the rivers and streams have been urged to stay alert.”

Similarly, water level in the small rivers in Taplejung, Panchthar, Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Udayapur, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Sindhupalchowk, Kavrepalanchowk, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Dhading, Makwanpur, Chitwan, Gorkha, Tanahun, Lamjung, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, Kaski, Syangja, Parbat and Dolpa is also likely to increase and there is a moderate risk of flash floods.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, water level in rivers in and around Rukum (East), Rukum West, Salyan, Jajarkot, Surkhet, Dailekh, Kalikot, Mugu, Humla, Jumla, Achham, Bajhang, Bajura, Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Darchula and Kanchanpur districts is likely to rise significantly and there is a moderate risk of flash floods.
