KATHMANDU: The Health and Social Committee of Nepal Chamber of Commerce has provided medicines, first aid materials and various health essentials to Nepal Chamber of Commerce for the health treatment and relief of the people affected by the disaster.
The relief materials include medicines needed for treating common cold, diarrhoea and other diseases, ORS, povidone iodine solution used in wounds, tissue paper, surgical equipment, sanitary napkins and other essential medical supplies.
President of the Health and Social Committee Mrigendra Mehar Shrestha handed over the medicines and medical supplies to Krishna Man Shrestha, co-president of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Disaster Management Council. According to Shrestha, the assistance amount is worth around Rs 50 lakh.
According to the NCC, the equipment would be distributed to the disaster-affected areas in coordination with the government bodies as per the need.
Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has stated that the private sector will continue its support to the government to provide immediate health care and relief to the affected people during the time of disaster.
