Kathmandu. Heifer International Nepal and its employees have contributed Rs 10 million to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the devastating floods and landslides in Bhotekoshi.

Floods and landslides in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and other areas have caused huge human and physical damage after the glacial lake burst in the mountainous region on August 26. The assistance has been provided at a time when hundreds of families have been displaced and livelihoods based on agriculture, agriculture, and livestock have been affected.

According to Heifer Nepal, the assistance was raised from the organization’s emergency relief fund and the amount that the employees voluntarily contribute from their monthly salary. The organization will work in coordination with the local government and partner organizations to provide food, health treatment, medicines and essential supplies to the affected communities immediately.

Heifer International Nepal’s National Director Dr. Tirtha Raj Regmi said that it is the social responsibility of the organization to stand united with the affected communities in this difficult time of disaster and expressed commitment to provide continuous support until the rehabilitation of the affected families.

Heifer Nepal has said that the immediate relief will help the affected families to build climate-resilient communities in the long term by rehabilitating agriculture, livestock and cottage businesses.
