Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah held a telephone conversation with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese today.

In the telephonic conversation that took place this morning, PM Shah said that it was important to hold talks with his Australian counterpart at a time when Nepal was going through a difficult situation, PM’s press and research expert Deepa Dahal said.TAG_OPEN_div_14

Prime Minister Shah expressed his gratitude to the Australian government and people for their solidarity with the loss of life, property and physical infrastructure caused by the massive floods in the Bhotekoshi River of Rasuwa on August 23. He also appreciated Australia’s support in the rescue and relief work in Nepal. In particular, he expressed his gratitude to Australia for sending a team of drone operators including experts and essential relief materials and financial assistance.TAG_OPEN_div_12

Prime Minister Shah said that the search for Australian nationals who have gone missing due to floods in Nepal has also been intensified. Stating that Nepal and Australia have a close relationship for a long time, he said that Nepal and Australia would continue to coordinate and cooperate with Australia in search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation in this hour of disaster.TAG_OPEN_div_10
