Construction of Ayurveda building to be completed in 18 months stalled for 5 years

Syangja. The building of Dhanubanse Ayurved Dispensary in Waling Municipality-1, Yawadi has been in limbo for a long time. The Ayurved dispensary, which was established with the objective of providing easy access to health care to the locals, has been in limbo for the past five years.
Although an agreement was signed with Safe Engineering Builders Pvt Ltd Chitwan in February 2020 under the Federal Urban Development and Building Construction Office, Pokhara to complete the building within 18 months, it has been in limbo for the past five years due to the negligence of the contractor.TAG_OPEN_div_18
Laxman Lamsal, an engineer at the Federal Project Implementation Unit, Pokhara, said that only TAG_OPEN_div_16 half of the work of the building has been completed so far. Stating that the office has issued a notice to terminate the contract if the work is not completed within the stipulated time, he said that the contract will be canceled if the construction company does not show urgency by the end of August.
“The office wants the building to be completed by the company that is constructing the building as much as possible,” he said, “If the work was done continuously, it would not have taken much time, now half of the work is left.” Although the office had sent a letter to complete the construction on time, the building has been stuck for the past five years due to the delay of the construction company.
Padam Raj Gurung, chairman of Waling-1, said that the construction company has been refusing to expedite the construction of the dispensary despite requests from the locals and people’s representatives to expedite the construction of the project. “The dispensary, which was established with the aim of providing sensitive services like health to thousands of citizens, has been left in limbo due to the negligence of the contractors. Hari Prasad Aryal, chief of the office, said that they are compelled to operate the office on rent as the construction of the building has not been completed on time. “Due to lack of space, the services provided by the dispensary are closed and it is not possible to provide all the services,” he said, adding, “The medical yoga and medicines required to be done in the dispensary are currently closed due to the under-construction building.” According to him, the dispensary has been conducting only general services, treatment and counseling.TAG_OPEN_div_10
