Kathmandu. The death toll from the devastating floods in the mountainous region near the Sino-Nepal border on August 26 has risen to 43, officials involved in the rescue and search operation confirmed on Sunday.
According to the latest census, 43 people have died and 519 have gone missing in the landslides and glacial floods in the mountainous region.
The landslides have killed nearly 1,400 people and left more than 5,500 missing in both China and Nepal. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced as thousands of houses have been swept away or inundated.
The floods have caused damages to power houses, road networks, bridges, houses, and arable land in Nepal.
