Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has claimed that after the US wins the war with Iran, the price of oil will fall sharply and the price of gasoline will be less than two US dollars per gallon.

Trump said that the energy costs have increased due to the ongoing military action in the Middle East and the market will stabilize after the war. He also warned that Iran will not be allowed to have nuclear weapons.

In response, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, warned the United States not to attack Iran’s energy infrastructure. He said that American companies involved in Iranian oil and gas will also be at risk.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth warned that if Iran attacked US ships, it would destroy Iranian oil tankers. He claimed that Iran does not have an effective navy and air force and said that US aircraft, ships and submarines could hit Iran’s military and oil infrastructure.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has claimed that the three Iranian crude oil tankers are part of a multibillion-dollar “shadow network” that finances the IRGC and its regional allies. CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper said the US would not hesitate to take action against Iran’s oil tanker fleet if necessary.

As the United States links the war to victory and claims of low energy prices, Iran has warned of strong retaliation if it attacks its energy infrastructure. Rising tensions have also raised concerns that the global energy market could be affected.
