Kathmandu. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has said that 1,357 bodies have been recovered so far in the Bhotekoshi floods and its affected areas. Human body parts have also been found from different places among the bodies found.

According to the NRA, 102 bodies have been identified and received by the families so far. As many as 5,326 people are still out of contact after the floods. Of the out-of-contact tourists, 2,860 are from Rasuwa, 1,981 from Nuwakot and around 587 foreign tourists, according to the NRA.

NRA Spokesperson Shanti Mahat said that so far 13,583 people have been rescued and 6,827 injured have been treated. “Of them, 327 have been treated in 10 different hospitals, 3,404 by the Nepal Army and 3,096 by the Armed Police Force,” he said.

According to the information provided by the NRA, 7,912 personnel of Nepal Police, 9,287 of Nepal Army and 4,203 of Armed Police Force have been mobilized.

According to the NRA, 39 holding centers have been set up in the affected areas and 3,533 people have been accommodated. Of them, 669 are in Rasuwa, 2,651 in Nuwakot and 213 in Dhading.

The Nepal Army has flown 1,157 helicopters from Kathmandu, the private sector 129 times from Kathmandu and the Armed Police Force 203 times for rescue and relief efforts.

The government has provided Rs 10 million in Rasuwa, Rs 10 million in Nuwakot and Rs 50 lakh in Dhading. Rs 13.5 crore has been provided to the affected 15 municipalities.

The NEA has 50,000 litres of diesel, 18,000 litres of petrol and 18,000 litres of aviation fuel in stock in the affected areas.

According to NEA, electricity supply has been restored to 78 per cent households in Rasuwa, 96.7 per cent in Nuwakot and 99.8 per cent in Dhading.

According to the NRA, the Ministry of Health has mobilized more than 150 human resources to provide psycho-social counseling services to the flood-affected people.
