Tensions in U.S.-China trade relations escalated last year after the Trump administration imposed massive tariffs. The high tariffs imposed by the two countries on each other’s products were temporarily eased late last year after China limited supplies of rare earth minerals.TAG_OPEN_div_17

China achieved a record trade surplus of $110 trillion last year, despite fluctuations in global trade. Export growth to the European Union (EU), Southeast Asia, and Africa helped offset the impact of the decline in exports to the United States.TAG_OPEN_div_15
