Shortage of cooking gas in market: Minister directs to make arrangements to exchange LPG cylinders of one company at the same price if not available

KATHMANDU: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav has directed the bodies concerned to make necessary arrangements for the smooth supply of LP gas to the consumers in view of the impact on the supply system due to the floods in the Bhotekoshi River on August 23.

On the occasion, Minister Yadav instructed the government to make arrangements to supply gas cylinders of one company at the same price in case the gas cylinders of one company are not available in case they are not available.

With this arrangement, consumers will be able to get gas through cylinders of other companies if the cylinders of the companies they are using are not available immediately. This arrangement is being made with the aim of providing relief to the consumers by immediately addressing the supply constraints caused by the floods.

Minister Yadav directed the Nepal Oil Corporation and the gas industries concerned to effectively implement this provision in the Kathmandu Valley. She made it clear that action would be taken as per the prevailing laws if anyone is found causing unnecessary trouble to the consumers, creating artificial scarcity or working against the prescribed provisions.
