Kathmandu. Nepal Readymade Garment Industry Association has donated Rs 33,33,333 to the victims of the Bhotekoshi floods. Expressing sorrow over the loss of life and property due to the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River from the Tibet region, the association handed over a cheque of the amount to be deposited in the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund to the Finance Minister.
According to the association, its member industries are also contributing financially to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund on their behalf. Also, keeping in mind the immediate needs of the flood-affected and affected citizens, clothes, readymade uniforms and other necessary items are being distributed as relief with the help of the members of the association and international buyers.
The NRNA has also praised the efforts being made by the government, security agencies, local levels and related bodies for the rescue, safe relocation and relief of the people affected by the floods.
According to the association, special attention should be given to the immediate relief as well as long-term rehabilitation, revival of local economic activities and protection and creation of employment opportunities to return the families and communities affected by the disaster to normal life.
The NRNA has pledged to continue necessary support and collaboration for rescue, relief, rehabilitation and reinstatement of employment for the Nepali migrant workers.
