MPIA donates Rs 31 lakh to Bhotekoshi flood victims

Kathmandu. The Mobile Phone Importers Association (MPIA) has provided financial assistance of Rs 31 lakh to the people affected by the devastating floods and landslides in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on August 26.

The MPIA collected the amount from its member institutions. The collected amount of Rs. 31 lakh was handed over to the Hon’ble Finance Minister of the Government of Nepal on September 10.

The amount has been transferred to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. MPIA believes that this will help in the relief and rescue work of the people who have suffered a lot of damage to their homes, property and daily life due to the disaster.

MPIA Chairman Deepak Kumar Malhotra, Vice President Sanjay Agrawal and Board members handed over the amount to the Finance Minister.

Handing over the donation, MPIA Chairman Deepak Kumar Malhotra said that it is the common responsibility of all to stand with the affected citizens in this difficult time of disaster. He said that the goodwill and cooperation shown by the member organizations to help the people who are in distress due to the disaster is commendable and thanked all the member organizations.
