KATHMANDU: CG Properties 9th Nepal Real Estate and Construction Exhibition-2083 will be held at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu from September 15 to 4.

The exhibition is being jointly organized by Nepal Land and Housing Development Association and Federation of Nepal Land and Housing Development Federation in collaboration with Nepal Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of its 75th diamond jubilee. The exhibition will be managed by Shia Event Associates Pvt. Ltd.

According to the organizers, there will be more than 100 stalls from different places of Nepal and neighboring country India as well. All the stalls have been booked. Apartments, land development projects, cement, steel, wood, glass, paints, sanitary, electrical appliances, interior design, solar energy, rainwater harvesting and waste management will be displayed at the exhibition.

According to the organizers, digital stands, electronic kiosks and virtual reality technology will be used to make the exhibition environment-friendly this time. With this, the aim is to make the exhibition ‘paperless’.

Roshan Bhoeddho, coordinator of the ninth Nepal Real Estate and Construction Expo, said the expo aims to promote sustainable urbanization through the development of safe, systematic and scientific settlements.

Deepak Malhotra, senior vice-president of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, said that policy reforms are necessary to solve the problems seen in the real estate business. He said that due to the slowdown in the business sector, the overall economy has also been affected.

Malhotra also demanded that the loan-to-value ratio should be increased to 70 per cent to make the real estate sector vibrant. He said that the investment environment in the real estate sector should be improved as liquidity is easing in the banking sector and interest rates are declining.

On the occasion, President of Nepal Federation of Land and Housing Development Federation, Bishno Prasad Ghimire, said that real estate business is the backbone of the economy. He said that collaboration between the private sector and the government was necessary to make the sector systematic and dynamic.

Similarly, President of Nepal Land and Housing Development Association Engineer Deepak Kunwar said that the real estate and construction sector has been continuing even amidst the earthquake, COVID-19 pandemic and economic stagnation. He said that the exhibition will not only cover the real estate business but also the industries, businesses and labor force directly and indirectly associated with the construction sector. According to him, the exhibition will also present the options of providing houses at a price of around Rs 1.4 crore. Alternatives to the houses available at a price of around Rs 1.4 crore will also be presented to the consumers.

from relief to flood victims to free health camps

The organizing organization has said that along with business activities, social responsibility has also been given priority. Relief materials including food, clothes, medicines and drone equipment have been sent to the families affected by the floods in Rasuwa on August 26 and Rs 31 lakh has been handed over to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. According to the organizers, a cash of Rs 31 lakh has been handed over.

During the exhibition, free consultation will be provided by experts related to earthquake-resistant house construction and architecture. Similarly, a blood donation program will be conducted in collaboration with Om Hospital and Grande International Hospital. Free health treatment package will also be provided to the flood victims of Rasuwa.

The event will feature panel discussions with the participation of policy makers, government officials, private sector representatives, engineers and architects on climate change, disaster resilient infrastructure, restoration of safe settlements and public-private partnership (AAA).

Free training and consultancy will also be provided to the selected youths through an open call to the youths who have started a new business or facing challenges with the objective of encouraging the young entrepreneurs.

The organizers say that the exhibition, which has been organized continuously since 2009, has continued despite the earthquake, Covid pandemic and economic stagnation. More than 65,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition this year.

The organizers believe that the exhibition will be useful for consumers to get information about the selection of houses, financial decisions and safe investments as liquidity in the banking sector is easy and interest rates are decreasing. The organizers have urged consumers, investors, contractors and media persons to actively participate in the exhibition.
