Myagdi. The revenue of the Division Forest Office has increased by more than four times due to the revenue paid by the hydropower and transmission line project for the use of government forest area and tree plantation.

The office collected Rs 11,635,028 revenue in the fiscal year 2081/82 while in the fiscal year 2082/83.

Sixty-five MW Myagdi Khola Hydropower Project has paid Rs 517,913 revenue for the use of government forest area and tree plantation. Divisional Forest Officer Basanta Keshav Adhikari told RSS. He said that the Dandakhet-Rahughat 132 KV Transmission Line Project has paid Rs 1,94,881 revenue and Rahughat Hydropower Project has paid Rs 517,913 revenue for the use of forest area.

Out of the collected revenue, Rs 2,33,33,310 has been deposited in the Forest Development Fund of the federal government and Rs 4,544,075 as Value Added Tax (VAT). Similarly, Rs 2,94,21,320 has been deposited in the fund of the provincial government.

According to the office, 3,600 kilograms of medicinal herbs, 30,000 shoots of reeds, 5,000 khuru, 135,540 cubic feet timber of private population and 13.93 sticks of firewood were sold in the last fiscal year.

Similarly, 1,100 kgs Bhirmaha, 520 kgs Nagbeli powder, 80 kgs red mushroom, 11 kgs Rhododendron flower and eight kgs Dhupi leaves were allowed to be exported.
