Mustang. The Mustang Customs Office at Lomanthang-4, Nhechung in North Korea has collected Rs 1.78 billion in revenue in 15 days.

The import of goods from China has increased at the Mustang Customs Office after the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border point was completely closed due to the floods in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa. According to Chief of Customs Bidur Chudal, the import of Chinese goods from Korala border point of Mustang has increased after the complete closure of Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border point and Tatopani checkpoints. On Friday alone, the Mustang Customs Office collected Rs 27.11 crore in revenue in a single day. Chief Chudal said that after September 7, the average revenue from Mustang Customs has been around Rs 300 million per day.

According to Chief Chudal, 71 containers and 106 electric vehicles (EVs) have left for their destination after clearing the customs on Friday. He said that 434 containers and 641 electric vehicles entered Nepal from Korala border point till Friday, after the closure of Rasuwagadhina, were cleared at the customs office.

Customs Chief Chudal said that Rs 2.31 billion revenue was collected from the customs clearance of containers and electric vehicles entering Nepal through Korlana from July 2083/84 to September 11 of the current fiscal year. Till August 23, 133 containers and 163 electric vehicles had entered Nepal.

The government of Nepal had opened the Korala border point as an alternative export and import point from September 14 last year after the road was blocked by floods and landslides at Tatopani and Rasuwagadhina last year. According to Chudal, the Mustang Customs Office had collected revenue of Rs 6.92 billion from the export and import of North Korala border in the last fiscal year 2082/83 BS.

In that year, goods worth Rs 14.41 billion were traded on the import side and Rs 205 million on the export side. Last year, 3,223 electric vehicles and 1,873 containers were inspected through Korlana.
