Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has urged Ukraine to stop its attacks on Russian oil facilities and fuel supply facilities.
President Trump said that due to such attacks, there are some difficulties in the supply of diesel in Russia. He expressed concern about the situation of fuel supply, saying that its impact could also be felt in the world market.
On Friday, the average price of diesel in the US reached above $6 per gallon. This is the highest price of diesel in the US market so far.
Ukraine has been attacking infrastructure related to Russia’s oil and natural gas industry in the last few months. The Ukrainian side has been targeting various Russian energy facilities using long-range unmanned aircraft.
It is said that due to such attacks, the supply of fuel has been affected in some areas of Russia. In view of the pressure on the supply of fuel, Russia banned the export of diesel in July last year.
Russia is one of the world’s largest suppliers of diesel, and the drop in exports could also have an impact on international markets.
Meanwhile, the pressure on fuel supply in the world market is not only due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The war related to Iran has also affected international oil supplies. Due to the tension in the Strait of Hormuz, oil transportation through this important route has been affected.
The Strait of Hormuz is considered to be one of the world’s major oil transportation routes. If the movement of oil through this route is disrupted, there is a possibility of further impact on the supply and price of fuel in the international market.
In view of this situation, President Trump urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop the attack on Russia’s oil infrastructure. Ukraine, on the other hand, has said that targeting Russia’s energy sector is an important part of its war strategy.
The impact of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine is not limited to the military sector but is also being seen in the international energy market.
