KATHMANDU: Food Empire Holdings Limited, Singapore, a manufacturer of world-renowned Mac Coffee brands, has provided $20,000 worth of assistance to the flood-affected people of Nepal.
The food empire provided the support through Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) to provide relief and humanitarian assistance to the affected areas.
Food Empire Holdings has provided relief materials to the flood-affected areas including Rasuwa through the Chamber.
Executive member of NCC and CEO of Arcus Group, Mr. Rajul Shrestha said that Food Empire Holdings Limited Singapore has provided support through Nepal Chamber in coordination with Arcus Group.
According to Shrestha, the assistance received from Food Empire Holdings will be used to identify the immediate needs of the affected people and provide them as food and other essential items.
“As per the wishes of Food Empire Holdings, relief materials including food, clothes, sanitary pads have been distributed in the Upper Trishuli region in the first phase by prioritizing the basic materials needed by the flood-affected people,” he said.
In the first phase, about Rs 3 lakh worth of relief materials have been distributed. Shrestha said that on the basis of the flood-affected demand, essential relief materials worth Rs 27 lakh will be sent to the affected areas.
