Kathmandu. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has urged the government to resolve the land ceiling problem at the earliest.

Inaugurating the ‘Ninth Nepal Land and Housing and Construction Exhibition-2083’ that kicked off here today, he said the government should be serious to resolve the legal complexities related to border limitation.TAG_OPEN_div_26

He said that the process of formulating sustainable, citizen-friendly and geographical laws in the real estate sector is underway so that there is no need to amend it for 50 years.TAG_OPEN_div_24

Speaker Aryal stressed the need to encourage entrepreneurs to create decent employment in the country by ending the compulsion to go for foreign employment. He said that real estate business is the main basis to make the domestic economy dynamic and connect many sectors like cement, rods, banks, insurance, and infrastructure construction.

Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, president of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, said that the government should work to protect the real estate, housing and construction sectors as they are the backbone of Nepal’s economy. He said that the loan should be restructured instead of going ahead with the auction process of housing and real estate loans.TAG_OPEN_div_20

Engineer Deepak Kunwar, president of Nepal Land and Housing Development Association, said that due to the provision of land limitation, the property and revenue of more than 200 real estate companies have been stalled. He argued that the businessmen have been bearing the burden of interest for the last eight years as the company has not been able to transfer the ownership of the house and land even though the company has constructed houses and land by taking loan from the bank.TAG_OPEN_div_18

Bishnu Prasad Ghimire, president of the Federation of Nepal Land and Housing Development Federation, said that entrepreneurs have been facing problem due to the policy of allowing them to buy and sell their land due to the limitation.TAG_OPEN_div_16

The exhibition has more than 100 stalls showcasing real estate, banks, insurance, financial institutions, solar energy, paint, furniture, hospitals, among others. The fair will continue till September 19.TAG_OPEN_div_14
