Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is going to introduce a new banknote of Rs 50 denomination. The bank is going to introduce a new banknote of Rs 50 with different security features in the same shape and color from September 18, 2083.

According to a notice issued by the Currency Management Department of Nepal Rastra Bank, the new notes will have code numbers from 000001 to 799999.

In the middle of the new banknote, there is a promise that if the person comes to pay the money guaranteed by the Government of Nepal Rastra Bank, it will get Rs. 50 immediately from Nepal Rastra Bank.

On the left side of the note is a picture of Mount Everest and on the right side is a waterprint of Laligurans. The number ’50’ is also placed below the water print. At the bottom of the note, ‘V. No. 2082’ series is mentioned.

The new note has the signature of Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Prof. Dr. Bishwanath Poudel. The note also has a security thread woven on paper of 1.2 mm width. Looking back at the light, the thread is completely visible with ‘NRB’ written on it.

There is a picture of a snow leopard on the back of the note. ‘Nepal Rastra Bank’ is written on the top of the picture, while ‘Rupees 50’ and series number ‘2025 AD’ are mentioned in the lower part.

Earlier, the Nepal Rastra Bank had published a notice to introduce banknotes of Rs 50 denomination from July 5, 2020 with banknote code numbers 000001 to 999999. However, according to the Rastra Bank, only the notes of 000001 to 900000 have been brought into circulation.

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central bank, has issued a message that the banknotes are the property of the nation.
