How much profit tax has been collected in the last two months?

Kathmandu. The capital gains tax received by the state from the stock market has started decreasing.

In the same period of the last fiscal year, the profit tax received by the state from the share market has decreased by 54.41 percent.

In the first two months of the last fiscal year, the state had collected Rs 2.75 billion as capital gains tax.

In the same period of the current fiscal year, the amount has decreased by 54.41 percent to Rs 1.25 billion.

In the same month last year, the state had earned Rs 2.15 billion in profit tax from the share market.

In the first month of the current fiscal year, Rs 62,49,65,315 has been collected. According to CDS and Clearing, the amount of capital gains tax was collected till the end of July. The profit tax has decreased by 71.03 percent in the same period of the current fiscal year compared to the previous year.

According to the data, the long-term transactions on the personal side have paid Rs 19.35 crore in profit tax in the first six months of the current fiscal year.

Similarly, short-term traders on the personal side have paid Rs 35.71 crore as profit tax.

Similarly, institutional investors have paid Rs 74,42,74,733.

Similarly, in the month of August last year, the profit tax collection was Rs 60,14,99,464. In the same period of the last fiscal year, it increased by 5.19 percent to Rs 63,27,46,550.

According to the data, long-term traders on the personal side have paid Rs 20.74 crore in profit tax in the month of August.

Similarly, short-term businesses have paid Rs 23.73 crore as profit tax.

Similarly, institutional investors paid Rs 1879,72,561.

In the 2 months of the current fiscal year, investors have paid 10 percent capital gains tax on the profits earned by holding and selling shares for less than one year. Similarly, they have paid 7.5 percent capital gains tax on the sale of shares held for more than a year.

In the last fiscal year, investors holding shares for a period of one year or less were liable to pay 7.5 percent and 5 percent on the profit earned by holding shares for one year or more.

The government had increased the profit tax rate in the current fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year.

Investors have to pay 10 percent capital gains tax on the profits earned by holding and selling shares for less than one year. Similarly, if they hold and sell shares for more than one year, they will have to pay capital gains tax of 7.5 percent. This profit tax has been implemented from July.

The Cabinet meeting held on September 14 has reduced the lever rate to 3.75 percent for short-term investors and 5 percent for long-term investors.
