As of mid-July, commercial banks’ share investment in collateral stood at Rs 143 billion.

Kathmandu. The investment of commercial banks in shares has reached Rs 143.02 billion in the first month of the current fiscal year. According to the data released by the Nepal Rastra Bank, 20 commercial banks operating in the first month of the current fiscal year have invested margin type loans equivalent to this amount.

TAG_OPEN_div_21 Nabil Bank has invested the highest number of shares in securities during this period. The bank has invested shares worth Rs 17.86 billion in the month of July.

Similarly, Global IME Bank is the second largest bank with such loans. The bank has invested loans worth Rs 15.19 billion till mid-July of the current financial year.TAG_OPEN_div_19

Similarly, Kumari Bank invested Rs 10.55 billion, Siddhartha Bank invested Rs 9.84 billion and Prime Bank invested Rs 9.83 billion.TAG_OPEN_div_17

Laxmi Sunrise Bank has invested Rs 9.31 billion and Agricultural Development Bank has invested Rs 9.12 billion in such loans. Standard Chartered Bank is the bank with zero investment in shares.TAG_OPEN_div_15
