More than Rs 2.5 billion revenue collected in 20 days: EVs, containers entering from Korala border point after Rasuwa floods

Mustang. The Mustang Customs Office has collected Rs 2.54 billion in revenue in 20 days.

After the floods in Rasuwa, most of the containers, electric vehicles and containers entered Nepal via Korlana after changing route from Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border point.TAG_OPEN_div_32

According to Bidur Chudal, chief of the Mustang Customs Office at Lomanthang-4, Nhechung, 564 containers and 1,090 electric vehicles entered Nepal from Korala checkpoint after August 26.TAG_OPEN_div_30

Customs Chief Chudal said that most of the revenue has been collected in such a short time from the goods that have been changed from Kerung border point and the goods imported regularly from Korala checkpoint. Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani border points, the main trade points on the Nepal-China side, are completely closed. In such a situation, Korlana has become the only alternative route for import from China.

} Before the complete closure of Rasuwagadhi checkpoint, only Rs 5.3 million revenue was collected from the Mustang Customs Office between August 26 and August 9 of the current year. During this period, 163 electric vehicles (EVs) and 133 cargo containers entered from Korala border were inspected by the Mustang Customs Office.

According to the Mustang Customs, Rs TAG_OPEN_div_24 3.07 billion revenue has been collected in the months of July and August of the current fiscal year. Chief Chudal said that Rs 263.9 million revenue was collected at the Mustang Customs Office in the first month of August, while Rs 2.81 billion was collected in the second month of August.

According to the Mustang Customs, revenue of Rs 173.4 million was collected in the first month of the current fiscal year when 100 electric vehicles (EVs) entered Nepal via Liji-Nhechung Customs.TAG_OPEN_div_22

Similarly, in the month of August of the current fiscal year, revenue of Rs 1.93 billion was collected from the entry of 1,253 electric vehicles (EVs) into Nepal, said Chudal. Similarly, 57 containers of goods entered Nepal through Korlana in August and 697 in August of the current fiscal year.

The Mustang Customs Office had collected Rs 6.92 billion in revenue in the twelve months of the fiscal year 2082÷083. In that year, 3,223 electric vehicles (EVs) entered Nepal through Korala checkpoint.TAG_OPEN_div_18
