Kathmandu. The flood in Kaligandaki has swept away five houses in Farse and Lasti Bazaar of Jaljala Rural Municipality-8 in Parbat district, while many houses there are at risk of floods.

According to Raju Acharya, chairperson of the rural municipality, the residents of the vulnerable settlements have been shifted to safer places. The Kaligandaki flood has caused erosion in various coastal areas of Myagdi, Parbat, Baglung and other districts. The rise in the water level in the Kaligandaki river has increased the fear among the general public.
