Baglung. The death toll in floods and landslides in Baglung has reached 12.

As many as 12 people have died and one is still missing in the last three days in Baglung district due to landslides that have buried houses.

According to the District Police Office, two people died when a landslide buried their house at Sip in Tarakhola Rural Municipality-5. The deceased have been identified as Dil Bahadur Pun, 55, and his mother-in-law, Narmaya Roka, 79, of Malika Rural Municipality-2 of Myagdi, according to Superintendent of Police Phanindra Prasain. Pun’s wife, two sons and daughter-in-law sustained minor injuries in the landslide.

The death toll in the rain-triggered disaster in the district has reached 12 while one person went missing in the disaster.

On Saturday, one person died in Tarakhola. On Sunday, four people died and one went missing in Tamankhola Rural Municipality of Baglung and five died in Nisikhola Rural Municipality.
