KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a charge sheet at the Special Court on the charge of embezzling money against 10 persons, including the then employment coordinator of Rainas Municipality, Shekhar Nath Neupane, and the then administrative officer Ram Chandra Adhikari.

The anti-graft body has filed the charge sheet against the municipality on the charge of embezzling Rs 1.672 million received from the Prime Minister Employment Programme for the fiscal year 2076/77 BS and the conditional grant received from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security without any programme.

The anti-graft body has implicated in the corruption case against the then Chief Administrative Officer Adhikari, the then accountant Nabin Kumar Baral, the then chairperson of Municipality 1 Ramesh Neupane, the then member of Ward No. 3 Ojaraj Poudel, the then chairman of Ward No. 4 Jaiman Gurung, the then chairman of Ward No. 5 Nanda Bahadur Kumal, the then Chairman of Ward No. 6 Ruk Bahadur Tamang Gurung, the then Chairman of Ward No. 8 Krishna Prasad Lamichhane and the then Chairman of Ward No. 7 Madhav Prasad Parajuli.

CIAA Spokesperson Suresh Neupane said that the CIAA has demanded the recovery of the claim by imposing different charges on the offenders as per Clause 17 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059.
