Will take action against anyone leaking information: Home Minister Gurung

Kathmandu. Home Minister Gurung has warned that the officials and employees working in the Ministry of Home Affairs and its subordinate bodies will take action if they misuse their position and leak confidential and sensitive information to unauthorized individuals or bodies.

He said that sensitive information of the state is not the private property of any particular person but a matter related to public responsibility. He said that even though he has access to information because of his position, no one has the right to misuse it.

According to Minister Gurung, even the smallest information, information or intelligence related to security and investigation could be important to control crime, advance investigation and establish facts about the serious incidents that might occur in the future.

“Deliberate leakage of information, violating the state’s responsibility for privacy, will be taken seriously,” he said.

Home Minister Gurung has made it clear that anyone who leaks confidential and sensitive information of the state in a way that betrays the country and organization will not be spared. He said that the officials or employees involved in such activities would be taken action as per the prevailing laws and brought to book.
