Kathmandu. Birat Agri Limited is going to issue primary shares (IPO) to the general public. The company has appointed NIC ASIA Capital Limited as the issue and sales manager for the IPO issuance.
The agreement was signed between NIC Asia Capital and Birat Agri Limited. As per the agreement, NIC Asia Capital will provide institutional advisory and other services to the company for the issuance of primary shares to the general public in accordance with the prevailing laws.
Birat Agri, which has its office in Itahari-13, Sunsari, is a company established with the objective of developing the agriculture and aquaculture sector in a commercial, modern and sustainable manner. The company has been engaged in commercial integrated agriculture and fisheries through about 150 ponds in more than 100 hectares of reservoir area in Morang and Sunsari districts.
The company has been operating a modern fish feed plant with a production capacity of 25 tons per day at Khanar Industrial Area located in Itahari-13. According to the company, various types of floating and sinking fish feed are produced and sold from this plant.
The company plans to mobilize the capital raised from the proposed IPO to expand production capacity, develop modern processing technology and commercial infrastructure. The company has a long-term plan to integrate the value chain from production to processing, packaging and marketing of the agriculture and fisheries sector.
Birat Agri is preparing to set up a fillet and fish processing plant of Pangas fish. The company plans to process Pangas fish with modern technology to prepare, package and market fillets and other value-added fish products.
The company has set a target to set up a modern feed plant with a capacity of 10 tons daily to produce nutritious feed for fish and livestock.
The company plans to develop fish production, feed production, modern processing and filleting, cold storage, packaging and market management in a single integrated business cycle under the ‘Farm to Market’ concept.
With the development of these infrastructures, the company aims to integrate the entire process from production to processing, packaging and marketing into an integrated system. According to the company, the expansion plan is expected to contribute to value addition, use of modern technology, employment generation and import substitution in the agriculture and aquaculture sector.
Meanwhile, NIC ASIA Capital has been providing consultation services from private limited to public company to IPO issuance.
