CAAN discusses with domestic airlines to sell tickets at lower rates after complaints of high airfare

{{TAG_OPEN_div_16} Kathmandu. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has held discussions with domestic airlines after complaints of increased airfares as the festive season approached. After discussions, the airlines companies have agreed to sell tickets at a lower price than the approved maximum fare.

Under the direction of Prime Minister Balendra Shah and initiation of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Poudel (Ganesh), CAAN called the officials and representatives of the domestic airlines companies today and discussed about the fare rates.TAG_OPEN_div_14

During the discussion, it has been agreed to sell and distribute tickets at a price lower than the approved fare and to clearly publish the information about it on the sales and distribution platforms of the airlines concerned.TAG_OPEN_div_12

According to CAAN, the minimum to maximum fare of domestic airlines was determined by the then Tourism Minister-level decision on December 12, 2016. Airlines have to sell tickets within the same approved fare limit.TAG_OPEN_div_10

The CAAN has said that it will increase the facilitation and monitoring of the airlines companies to prevent unnecessary price hike in air tickets due to the increase in the number of passengers during the festival time.TAG_OPEN_div_8
