Most of the hydropower projects that have been added to RCOD are from IPPAN leaders to RSP MPs.

Kathmandu. On Monday, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) extended the date (RCOD) for the commercial commencement of commercial production of 27 hydropower projects with a capacity of 540.47 MW in the first phase. This information did not come from the NEA but from the secretariat of Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha.

The NEA has said that the RCOD has been added after evaluating the actual condition of the projects that have already signed the power purchase agreement (PPA) but have not been able to complete the projects within the stipulated time.TAG_OPEN_div_55

Some of the RCOD projects are owned by the National Independent Power Producers’ Association (IPPAN), leaders of Nepal and lawmakers of the National Independent Party (RSP).TAG_OPEN_div_53

In such projects, the advisors of IPPAN, the immediate past president, vice-president, general secretary and members of IPPAN are included. Sources claim that the government is trying to reduce the distance by adding RCOD to the projects of IPPAN leaders as the distance between the government and IPPAN has started increasing in recent times.

Integrated Hydro Fund Nepal (Integrated Hydro Fund Nepal) and Bramhayani Hydropower Pvt Ltd (BCOD) have been added to the list of Integrated Hydro Fund-Nepal, which is headed by former central member of IPPAN and RSP lawmaker Bharat Parajuli.TAG_OPEN_div_49

Moonlight Hydropower is one of the companies that will add RCOD. Kalyan Bikram Neupane is its chairman. Sudhir Lamichhane and Ved Prakash Bista are the directors.TAG_OPEN_div_47

Moonlight has financial partnerships with Big Group, KBNR Isuwa Power Limited, JAZDC and Isuwa Energy. Birendra Bahadur Neupane is the director of Isuwa Energy. Bikram Bista is the chairman of this company. Bista is currently the Vice President of IPPAN.

Similarly, Birendra has been appointed as Chairman, Kalyan as Managing Director, Ananta Karki as CEO, Sudhir Lamichhane as CFO and Ved Prakash Bista as Administration.TAG_OPEN_div_43

Similarly, Sudhir Lamichhane is the CEO of JHDC i.e. Joshi Hydro. Birendra is the chairman, Kalyan is the managing director and Ananta Karki is the CEO of KBNR Isuwa Power.TAG_OPEN_div_41

Similarly, Birendra Bahadur Neupane is the Chairman of Big Group. Kalyan Bikram Neupane is the Managing Director and Ananta Karki is the CEO. Bharat Khatri is also a partner in this group. He is a former advisor at IPPAN.TAG_OPEN_div_39

Similarly, RCOD of Vision Energy & Power Limited has also been added. The chairman of this company is TN Acharya. He is currently the General Secretary of IPPAN.TAG_OPEN_div_37

Similarly, RCOD of Orbit Energy, which is Ganesh Karki, the immediate past chairman of IPPAN and advisor to Energy Minister Shrestha, has also been added. Batu Lamichhane is the chairman of the company. Karki and Lamichhane are business partners.TAG_OPEN_div_35

Similarly, RCOD of Fedikhola Hydropower Company has also been added. Prakash Dulal, vice-chairman of IPPAN, is the managing director of this company. Dulal is also the former general secretary of IPPAN.TAG_OPEN_div_33

Similarly, the RCOD of North Summit Hydro, which is owned by IPPAN Treasurer Shankar Basyal, has also been added. Similarly, the RCOD of Raghuganga Hydropower Company, which is invested by the Electricity Authority, has also been added.TAG_OPEN_div_31

The RCOD of Divya Jyoti Hydropower, which is run by Milan Khadka, a member of the executive committee of IPPAN, has also been added. The RCOD of White Lotus Power has also been added to the RCOD of Suman Kumari Joshi, secretary of IPPAN.
