Revival of tourism in Rasuwa

Rasuwa. The tourism sector of Rasuwa has been revived. With the construction of a bailey bridge over the Falakhu River in Betrawati, there has been enthusiasm in the tourism sector.

The area had been deserted for about one and a half months after the catastrophic flood on August 26 swept away the bridge over the Falakhu river. With the efforts of the Nepal Army, the Bailey Bridge has finally come into operation after 47 days.

The army has made the impossible possible by constructing a 74-meter-long bailey bridge. With the construction of the bridge, tourists have started thronging the foothills of the world’s famous tourist destination Langtang and the holy pilgrimage site Gosaikunda.

There has been a sudden change in the tourism business which has been stalled for a long time due to the operation of transport during the tourist season. This morning (Wednesday) morning, a convoy of vehicles carrying foreign tourists has moved towards the entrance of Langtang via the district headquarters Dhunche. The locals are happy with the operation of transport services.

The life of the people here was made difficult when the Rasuwa district, surrounded by mountains on all sides, was cut off from road connectivity. The risk of collapse of the tourism industry with an investment of billions of rupees had increased. With the opening of the bridge, new energy has been added to the tourists and local businessmen coming to Rasuwa.

Nishan Gajurel, a local hotelier from Dhunche, said, “Our hotels were empty after the flood swept away the bridge, there was a big worry that this season would be ruined as the bookings were canceled. After the construction of the bailey bridge, the flow of tourists started from today. It is a matter of great happiness for us than Dashain and Tihar, now the tourism of Rasuwa has started.” ”

With the ease of transportation through the Bailey Bridge, the mountainous journey has become very safe and accessible for the general public, domestic trekkers and foreign tourists returning home during the festival. Breaking the silence for a long time, the hotels, resorts and footpaths of Rasuwa have again started filling with foreign and domestic guests.
