Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has informed that the waste management work at Bancharedanda, the last waste management site in the Kathmandu Valley, will be affected from October 15 to October 17.
According to KMC, the waste management will be affected as the sanitation workers also go to celebrate Dashain, the biggest festival of Nepalis.
Chief of Environment Management Department of KMC, Sarita Rai, requested one and all to categorize waste generated from October 14 and categorize it into non-biodegradable category.
She said, “Do not throw the waste produced from your house, office and business haphazardly on the streets and public places and manage it in your own house and compound.” KMC has stated that the waste will be regularly managed on other days other than that date.
