Myagdi. Malika Rural Municipality-6 of Myagdi has been blacktopped after nearly two decades of road construction.
Darwang Bazaar, which is known as the commercial center of West Myagdi, is also the center of Malika Rural Municipality. Beg Prasad Garbuja, chairman of Malika Rural Municipality, said that the Darbang Bazaar road blacktopping project was completed only a few days ago.
“A distance of one kilometer and four hundred meters of premix technology has been blacktopped in the lower and upper market areas of Darwang,” he said. It was connected to the road network in 2064 BS. ”
The contract for the construction of the project, which is estimated to cost Rs 16.66 million, was signed with Sapkota Builders on February 13, 2082.
With the expansion and blacktopping of the road, the movement of vehicles has become easier. Due to the narrow road inside Darwang Bazaar, which is rapidly developed, the movement of vehicles is difficult and there is a risk of accidents.
The locality of Janapriya Secondary School in Darwang Bazaar, which has more than three hundred houses, was blacktopped by the Gandaki Province government two years ago. Locals have voluntarily demolished the trunks and huts of the houses to widen the road.
Ward Chairman Path Bahadur Roka said that the terraces and huts of 36 houses in Dhaulagiri Tole and 31 in Naya Bazaar Tole were demolished. Prior to this, a 400-metre-long drain was constructed by removing the structures on the right and left sides of the road towards Hulakchowk, Tallo Darbang, Pulchowk and Suspension Bridge last year.
