{{TAG_OPEN_div_41} Bhaktapur. Although the District Administration Office claims that the supply of LP gas for cooking is easy, the consumers of Bhaktapur are still not able to get gas easily. Consumers who have been waiting for gas for months are forced to go to shops and dealers for a full cylinder.

Sabina Bohju, a local of Bhaktapur, said that she has not been able to get gas in her house for three months. Earlier, she got only half full cylinder but has not been able to get another cylinder since then.TAG_OPEN_div_39

She said that she has heard that gas is easily available in the market, but she has not found it yet. “I am still wandering in search of gas. I can’t even go from the gas dealer to the retailer. When I called, I said that there was no gas,” she said, “They say that gas is easy in the market, but where will consumers like us get it?”TAG_OPEN_div_37

She said that she had a problem even though she tried to arrange another cylinder when the gas in the cylinder she had was running out. She complained that she did not get any help when she requested the seller to exchange the gas with another company’s cylinder even after paying some extra charge.TAG_OPEN_div_35

TAG_OPEN_div_33 Another consumer, Sunil Duwal, has also faced the same problem as Sabina. He said that even after a long time of registering his name in the shop for gas, he has not been able to get a cylinder.

“Even if you ask the moneylender of the gas shop, he says that he will inform you when the gas arrives. Months have passed, but I have not received it yet,” she said, “We did not say that we should buy it by paying money, give it for free. What is the situation when you do not get a single cylinder even after paying money?”

} Although the information about the easy supply of gas is being made public in the government agencies and social media, the consumers have not been able to get the gas. He asked where the gas is being distributed and why it has not reached the real consumers.

} For families who depend on gas for daily cooking, the lack of it has affected household chores. Consumers say that due to lack of gas, it is not possible to cook food on time and there is a compulsion to arrange alternative fuel. Especially for families who have been using the same cylinder for a long time, it is difficult to make another arrangement immediately after running out of gas.

Binod Kumar Khadka, Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur, claimed that the supply of gas has become easy in the district. He said that consumers can buy gas by exchanging cylinders from another company’s dealer if they do not get gas from one company.TAG_OPEN_div_25

Before Dashain, the District Administration Office had been making public information through social media about which company’s gas was being distributed where and when. He said that such information was stopped because it was thought that the supply of gas would be easier after Dashain.

Consumers are complaining that the supply has been easy, but the consumers have not been able to get gas. There is confusion among the consumers due to the lack of coordination between the administration’s claim and the actual situation in the market. If the supply has been easy, then the question has arisen as to why the consumers who are waiting for gas are not getting it. The problem seems to have become more complicated as clear information about the availability and distribution of gas has not reached the consumers.
