Kathmandu. The District Land Problem Resolution Committee, Udayapur has distributed land ownership certificates to 27 landless families in the erstwhile Gaighat and Deuri (now Triyuga Ward No. 5). Of these, 22 are landless Dalit and 5 are landless squatter families.
The locals, who have not been able to own the land in their name for a long time, have become legal landowners after getting the land ownership certificate. According to the committee, these families who received the land ownership certificates had been living in the same place for about 20 years.
The government has given high priority to the solution of the problems of landless Dalits, landless squatters and unorganized settlers. The distribution of land ownership certificates has been taken forward more effectively as per the government’s goal of solving the problems of landless Dalits, landless squatters and unorganized settlers in the long term and making them legal landowners.
