The 29-TAG_OPEN_div_38 km road from Dapchakhola Bridge No. 1 in Kavrepalanchowk to Nepalthok of Sindhuli was completely damaged by the flooded Roshi River in September 2081.

Out of the damaged highways, the reconstruction work of 25.11 km of the road towards Kavrepalanchowk is underway in three sections. Yogesh said that preparations are being made to blacktop one layer in three sections that are being constructed before the next rainy season. According to him, BP Highway, which was damaged by the floods, is being reconstructed in a dedicated double lane.

As per the agreement, Rs TAG_OPEN_div_34 688 million was signed with Uma and Company-Bhandari Amarjyoti JV for the reconstruction of 2.3 km road from Piple to Dalabesi of Kavrepalanchowk, Rs 1.42 billion was signed with Lama-Nawa Kantipur JV for the reconstruction of the road from Dalabenshi to 400besi and Rs 1.33 billion was signed with Khani-A1-Kamaljeet JV for the reconstruction of the road from 400besi to Bhakundebesi.

TAG_OPEN_div_30 According to him, due to the steep slopes in Chaukidanda and Pinthali, the repair and diversion is currently being done. Similar arrangements have been made for the Dalabesi-Piple section.

Yogesh said that there will be no traffic jam even though the road is currently reconstructed. According to him, the materials have been arranged to open the road in half to a few hours if the road is blocked due to mud and landslides due to rain.TAG_OPEN_div_28

The highway is considered as a short route connecting the eastern and mid-hill regions of Nepal with the federal capital Kathmandu.TAG_OPEN_div_26

The government had given a total of Rs 8.50 billion for the reconstruction of the damaged section. Out of this, Rs 7.50 billion has been given to three road sections towards Kavrepalanchowk and Rs 1 billion for one road section of Sindhuli.

According to Yogesh, there is a plan to convert five bridges into two lanes. A six.3 km RCC wall will be constructed in all three sections. The construction of BP Highway (Dhulikhel-Sindhuli-Bardibas 160 km road) was started in the fiscal year 2053/54 BS with the grant assistance of the Japanese government.
