100 more smart electric buses to be launched in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Kathmandu: A discussion was held with the representatives of the concerned bodies at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today regarding the land management and other technical aspects required for operating 100 more smart electric buses in the Kathmandu Valley.

Chief Executive Officer of Sajha Paribahan Bhupendra Aryal made TAG_OPEN_div_14 a presentation on various aspects of operation and management of electric vehicles to be made available in the near future with the facilitation of the Government of Nepal. In the context of sustainable management and use of electric vehicles, it was mentioned that land management was the main problem for the construction of infrastructure required for the operation of electric vehicles.

According to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’TAG_OPEN_div_12 s private secretary Binod Bahadur Kunwar, discussions were held on parking and holding centers, charging stations, repair centers and spare parts required for the operation of new electric buses.

Secretary at TAG_OPEN_div_10 the Prime Minister’s Office Raj Kumar Shrestha and Joint Secretary Namraj Ghimire have been assigned to work for inter-agency facilitation and land determination. Secretary Shrestha has been entrusted with the responsibility of facilitating with the concerned bodies for acquiring such land in the Kathmandu Valley.

The government TAG_OPEN_div_8 has carried out homework to operate 100 more large passenger buses in The Kathmandu Valley within a few months with the main objective of reducing the increasing public transport pressure in the Kathmandu Valley and adopting an developed urban transport system.
