Pokhara University approves rs 1.54 billion budget, policies and programmes

Kathmandu. The 25th General Assembly meeting of Pokhara University has approved the policies and programmes with a budget of Rs 1.54 billion for the next fiscal year.

A meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Vice-Chancellor KP Sharma Oli at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar today approved the amendment proposal in various regulations including the University’s Teaching Staff Regulations, 2055 and The Financial Regulations, 2055 and the Service Commission and Appellate Committee Regulations, 2057 BS.

In the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Oli urged the university to operate in a research-oriented and competitive manner and stressed the need to make the feeling that excellent higher education is possible in the country meaningful.

In the meeting, Vice-Chancellor and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuji Panta urged the university to engage in the production of human resources required for the 21st century.

Presenting the policy and programme, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Bedraj KC pledged that the university would make all-out efforts to provide education as per the demands of the global market by utilizing available resources.

A total of 34,679 students are studying in 68 academic programs through four constituent colleges, three joint constituent colleges and 58 affiliated colleges under four faculties of the university.
