Surkhet. With the high court’s verdict, the way has been cleared for the expansion of 132 KV power transmission line from Kohalpur of Banke to Surkhet, the capital of Karnali State.
According to Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel, it has become easier to extend the line at Gabhar of Baijnath rural municipality-1 and Baniyabhar of ward-4 in Banke district after the court’s decision.
Chief of Kohalpur-Surkhet 132 KV transmission line expansion project, Rabi Chaudhary, said that the project would be completed within six months. Birendranagar Municipality-11, Subbakuna dispute has also been resolved.
So far, 95 percent progress of the project has been achieved. Under the rs 700 million project, trees are being cut. So far, 5,000 trees have been cut and another 5,500 trees have to be cut.
According to Project Chief Chaudhary, 156 foundations have been constructed and now six foundations will be built. So far, 40 kilometers of wire has been pulled. Now 12 kilometers of wire is yet to be pulled.
